Choose food handlers that are not:-
- Smoking, chewing betel vine, eating or drinking while handling food.
- Keeping short nails and short hair
- Wash their hands after visiting the toilets before preparing the food and after handling raw food such as chicken, meat, fish etc.
- Not sneezing, spitting and coughing towards the direction of the food.
- Use tweezers, chopsticks, spoon and forks to pick up the food.
- Cover with food after it has been cooked
- Do not press the food while serving it.
- Having a clean premise.
- Use different towels for cleaning hands, tables, and plates.
If you choose to eat outside (premise selling food), make sure that you are safe by choosing the following premises :-
- Away from the roads, without roaming animals, flies, dust, roaches while having good ventilation.
- Complete with basic facilities such as clean and safe water supply, electricity, proper drainage, trash cans with lids, toilets, and food remnants are to be trashed in plastic bags.
- Clean and complete utensils and clean tables.
- Neat food handlers wearing aprons and hair cover.
- Cooked food will need to be covered.
- An appropriate place to store raw (uncooked) food.
